Abstract | Carrot2 is an Open Source framework for research experiments with querying various textual data sources, processing and presentation of the results. Its main goal is to promote component reuse in order to reduce the effort involved in the development of Information Retrieval software. So far, the most successful and popular application of Carrot2 has been organizing results of Internet searches into easy to browse thematic groups called clusters. In this area, the project successfully competes with commercial counterparts like Vivisimo or iBoogie. |
