Best DC ever

The DC was great. I enjoyed seeing other students in different stages with vastly different approaches and goals to their research. But somehow because we share one domain, one context, all seemed applicable on at least one level to my research and some on several.

From the printed and bounded mini proceedings to the committee members and organizers, the experience was top. Two of the reviewers were present for the entire time as well as the three organizers, two of which were notable scholars in open source research. It was great to have everybody's feedback. The diversity of the faculty was impressive. They could give feedback to the more technical positivist and the social interpretative perspectives and do it without obvious bias toward one or the other.

The students were thoughtful and received the feedback graciously. It was apparent that research in the OSS context can be challenging for students who don't have a faculty member who can help them with the context. The panel was really helpful as were the other graduate students who gave both practical and theoretical input.
