We first estimate the market value of OSS, an issue which only a few studies have specifically addressed. The results are then used to analyze the economic effect of OSS. Although our study has some methodological limitations regarding the calculation of the market value of OSS, we demonstrate that the economic effect of OSS is generally positive. %I Springer Berlin Heidelberg %C Berlin, Heidelberg %V 404 %P 18 - 29 %@ 978-3-642-38928-3 %R 10.1007/978-3-642-38928-3_2
