We present a conceptual framework for planning the early stages of the release process highlighting the main stakeholders and concerns involved. The framework is illustrated by means of three industrial software platforms reporting first experiences of the community building process. In order to measure the effectiveness of the approach, the use of a quantitative and qualitative evaluation framework is advocated. %B OSS2009: Open Source Ecosystems: Diverse Communities Interacting (IFIP 2.13) %S IFIP Advances in Information and Communication Technology %I Springer %V 299/2009 %P 57 - 69 %8 2009/// %G eng %& 7 %R http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-642-02032-2_7 %> https://flosshub.org/sites/flosshub.org/files/Opening%20Industrial%20Software.pdf
